Wool: a noble, renewable, sustainable and resistant resource.
By restoring sheep’s wool to the noble status it deserves, we aim to redress the balance between man and his environment. We want to bring neglected expertise and resources to the forefront, in a context in which companies are too often subject to financial imperatives. This is against the tide, perhaps, but never brushed aside: we have always believed that the environment and the economy go hand in hand. We know and trust that you, our partners and consumers, are increasingly conscious of the impact of what you buy.
Woolconcept's® technology
Our products are manufactured in Belgium using sheep’s wool, a natural, non-toxic material that is derived from shearing sheep. As a result, transport produces very little pollution and the related carbon impact is low (55 kWh/m³). Sheep’s wool is a totally reusable insulation, and has the advantage of coming in various different formats which can be used to create pleasant interiors that promote a healthy environment.
Age-old technology
Thanks to its many properties, sheep’s wool is the only natural insulator that protects against heat, cold and humidity, all by filtering the air.
Used since the dawn of time, its reliability is in no doubt.
One thing is clear: before our ancestors used it to their benefit, it already protected sheep against any possible weather conditions.
Water-soluble markings for sheep.
It is crucial to take care of sheep because their wool is constantly growing. Depending on the breed, a sheep can produce between 1.5 and 4.5 kilos of wool per year. Shearing can certainly be considered to be a hygiene measure. Indeed, it prevents the appearance of ectoparasites such as ticks, scabies or keds. Welfare for our woolly friends: shearing the hindquarters of a sheep offers it relief and eliminates crusted dirt, etc.
Woolconcept® develops and offers natural, innovative and effective products that have a limited environmental impact by reusing a local raw material: sheep’s wool. These products are intended for anyone who is environmentally conscious, interested in short circuits and the circular/local economy and companies that want to move towards sustainability.
